IPL 2021: Virat Kohli reprimanded for violation of Code of Conduct

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli lost his cool on himself after he was dismissed during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Virat Kohli who was looking to get into the groove after playing 28 balls for his 33-run patient knock failed to get going after he was dismissed by Jason Holder.

David Warner brought the Caribbean Jason Holder into the attack in the 13th over. The West Indies all-rounder made an instant impact right in the first ball of the over. Virat Kohli tried to hit the ball but he got a top edge off his bat and the ball travelled towards the leg-side region.

Meanwhile, Vijay Shankar quickly ran in from deep and took a very good catch to get rid of Virat Kohli. It was definitely not Virat Kohli's way of playing as he scored just 4 boundaries consuming 29 balls. Just as when he looked to switch gears, he was dismissed. Kohli unleashed his anger while he made his way back to the pavilion.

As the skipper walked back, he slammed the chair in anger so much that he pushed the chair to a great extent. His anger was evident that he failed to convert his innings to a big one after getting set. Virat Kohli let the emotions get the better of him and hit the chair with his bat in brute force. The video clip went viral on social media.

RCB captain reprimanded for IPL Code of Conduct

Royal Challengers Bangalore set up a target of 150 for the Sunrisers. But, SRH failed to chase down the target as they scored 143/9 in 20 overs. Following an intense 6-run win against SRH, RCB captain Virat Kohli was reprimanded for a violation of the code of conduct for his antics on the field.

Taking a trip down the memory lane, in 2016 against RCB, the former KKR captain Gautam Gambhir was docked a 15% fine on the match fee whereas RCB skipper Virat Kohli escaped a fine as he was just warned by the match referee, Vengalil Narayan Kutty. Kohli was charged with a Level 1 breach of clause 2.2 which relates to "Abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during a Match".
