According to the former chairman of the selection committee, Sunrisers Hyderabad's leg-spinner Rashid Khan is the most valuable player in the history of the Indian Premier League.

Srikkanth's remark comes after Rashid Khan showcased his mettle during the recently-concluded IPL match against Mumbai Indians. Plying his trade for SRH, Rashid Khan bowled one of the best economical spells in the game in his full bowling quota of 4 overs.

Rashid Khan played an important role in restricting Mumbai Indians to 150/5. He might not have taken wickets but he ensured to not leak runs in the game. In an era where batsmen have dominated the bowlers more often than not, Rashid Khan conceded just 22 runs to his name at an economy rate of 5.50.

“@rashidkhan_19 you are by far the most valuable player in the IPL ever! Absolute amazing bowling which helped the @SunRisers to restrict @mipaltan to 150 odd! Chepaulk becoming the epicentre for thrillers this,” the former cricketer who played his part in India's win in 1983 Cricket World Cup by contributing crucial 38 runs as a top scorer added in a statement.
