Watch: Andre Russell laughs in the dugout after Chris Gayle puts in a dive

West Indies players are sheer entertainers both on and off the field. Without these players, a T20 game would lack spice and the Caribbeans are the ones who add spice to the flavour to make the game look so interesting. The likes of Andre Russell, Kieron Pollard, Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo have well and truly entertained the fans with antics.

Among these players, Universe Boss Chris Gayle has often gone a step ahead in terms of entertaining the audience. That's Chris Gayle for you! During the recently-concluded game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings, Chris Gayle took the cricket fraternity by surprise after hilariously diving on the field.

Chris Gayle's dive leaves Andre Russell in splits

Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders' bowlers chipped in with superb performance as they restricted Punjab Kings to 123/9 in 20 overs. Prasidh Krishna collected 3 wickets to his name whereas Sunil Narine and Pat Cummins took 2 wickets each. Mayank Agarwal scored 31 off 34 balls whereas Chris Jordan scored 30 off 18 balls.

In reply, KKR got off to a sluggish start as they lost Nitish Raina (0) and Shubman Gill (9) early on. However, it was Rahul Tripathi who held his nerves and showed resistance on the pitch. During his stay at the crease, an amusing incident was recorded.

Tripathi who faced Chris Jordan during the overs tried to hit the ball over mid-wicket where Chris Gayle was stationed. The ball travelled so fast near the mid-wicket but Gayle was also quick to stop it. In doing so, he put in a dive to stop the ball while also saving some runs for the side.

Meanwhile, Andre Russell saw the funny side of it as he immediately burst into laughter. He couldn't control himself after seeing West Indies international Gayle coming up with such a dive. The video clip of the incident went viral on social media.

KKR captain Eoin Morgan, who suffered the wrath of his fans for his poor batting form rose to the occasion and scored a match-winning 47 off 40 balls including 4 fours and 2 sixes. KKR aced the run-chase in 16.4 overs and won the game by 5 wickets. Morgan was adjudged the man of the match for his knock.
