Punjab Kings took on Delhi Capitals in their third game in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League. Punjab Kings started their IPL campaign with a 4-run win over Rajasthan Royals. But, they were handed a shocking defeat by Chennai Super Kings. The yellow army stunned PBKS by winning the game by 6 wickets.
On the other side of the coin, Delhi Capitals began their campaign with a win over Chennai Super Kings. After that, they lost to Rajasthan Royals in their second game. Talking about the game, Punjab Kings took the bowling attack to the cleaners and didn't let Rishabh Pant-led team any snippet of opportunity to get back into the game.
Mayank Agarwal who was dismissed cheaply in the first two games played one of the top knocks alongside his captain KL Rahul. The PBKS opening pair added a valuable 122-run partnership before Mayank was dismissed on 69 off 36 balls including 7 boundaries and 4 sixes at a strike rate of 191.67.
A couple of overs later, PBKS captain was dismissed on 61 off 51 balls. His innings included 7 boundaries and 2 hits over the fence at a strike rate of 119.61. Deepak Hooda and Shahrukh Khan chipped in with quickfire cameos as they scored 22 and 15 respectively as Punjab Kings posted 195/4 in 20 overs.

In response to PBKS' target, Delhi Capitals got off to a sensational start as Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi looked ever so comfortable against the bowlers. The opening pair added a 59-run opening wicket partnership before Arshdeep Singh got rid of dangerous young opener Prithvi Shaw for 32 off 17 balls including 3 fours and 2 sixes.
Shaw was striking the balls quite cleanly at 188.24 but PBKS bowler Arshdeep Singh took the pace of the ball and delivered a short-pitched delivery. But the young opener miscued it in the follow-through and it went high in the air. Meanwhile, Chris Gayle ran between square leg and mid wicket to take the catch in his safe pair of hands.
After taking the wicket of Prithvi Shaw, Arshdeep Singh sent him off with Shikhar Dhawan's trademark celebration. The video is doing the rounds on the internet. However, Dhawan went about his business and scored a match-winning 92 off 49 balls including 13 boundaries and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 187.92. DC chased down the target in 18.2 overs and won the game by 6 wickets.
