Just a couple of days ago, Pakistan's run-machine became the No.1 batsman in One-Day Internationals. The 26-year-old surpassed Virat Kohli in ICC Rankings for ODIs. The Indian captain held the numero uno spot for more than 1200 days but nobody came close to surpassing him.

However, Babar Azam made giant strides in terms of batting as he took his gameplay to the next level on a consistent basis. He finally surpassed Virat Kohli in the 50-over format. Babar is already the number one batsman in the T20I format whereas he ranks second in the longest format of the game.

Babar Azam has not only been scoring runs consistently but has also proved his worth as a captain. Under his captaincy, Pakistan registered a 2-1 ODI series win against South Africa in South Africa. Later on, both teams locked horns with each other in the four-match T20I series.

Pakistan won three games but lost just 1 game. Pakistan captain Babar Azam played a match-winning knock in the third T20I against South Africa as he scored a brilliant quickfire century in the run-chase and helped his team chase down 204-run target by 9 wickets. As far as the fourth T20I match is concerned, Pakistan won the game by 3 wickets to win the series by 3-1.

During the game, Babar Azam played a superb late shot off Sisanda Magala's bowling. Although Babar's stay at the crease was short-lived, he managed to score 3 boundaries to his 24 off 23 balls. However, his late shot turned out to be one of the best shots of the match. The video clip has also gone viral on the internet.
