Rohit Sharma is one of the best openers in the world right now. He has already established himself as a specialist opening batsman in ODIs, Tests and T20Is. The Indian cricket team rely on his potential at the top order. As an opener, he is supposed to provide a good start in order to take the team in the right direction.

So far, the 33-year-old veteran cricketer has done that time and time again. He is gearing up for a new challenge up ahead as Team India will lock horns with New Zealand in the inaugural edition of the ICC World Test Championship. The marquee event will be staged at The Ageas Bowl in Southampton on June 18.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma and his teammates have already prepared to depart to the United Kingdom for upcoming assignments. After the ICC WTC final, India will face England in the five-match Test series. Ahead of the WTC final, the Kiwis are playing a two-match Test series against England.

The first of the two-match Test series commenced today at the Lord's stadium while the second Test match will begin on June 10 at Edgbaston. Kiwis have a better chance of learning and adapting to the conditions because they will be playing two Tests.

They will enter the ICC WTC final with a bit more confidence, tenacity and aggression. However, Indians won't have time to practice like New Zealand players. India and New Zealand are first and second in the points table of the World Test Championship.

Rohit Sharma makes an appearance on live coverage

As the ICC WTC final is less than 15 days away from getting underway, cricket analysts have been busy discussing the team combination and so on. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma stole the spotlight during Hotstar live coverage as he makes an epic entry in the 11th second of the video clip.

The analysts captured the video and uploaded it on the internet. The video went viral in no time on social media channels. Rohit will be looking forward to providing a good start for the team. For sure, the ball is certain to move significantly but if once he gets set on the crease, he will be destined for greatness.
