Watch: Sam Curran performs 'sword celebration' right in front of Ravindra Jadeja in a practice game

England all-rounder Sam Curran has been a revelation in world cricket. The young all-rounder was the surprise through which England beat India by 3-1 in the 2018 Test series. The youngster was adjudged the man of the series for his all-round performance.

Curran was rightly rewarded with a staggering INR 7.2 crore deal by Punjab Kings, in what was the third-highest bid in the auctions ahead of IPL 2019. He played 9 games and scored 95 runs including 1 fifty. Curran picked up 10 wickets to his name and almost justified his price tag.

The English all-rounder registered his best bowling spell of 4/11 in Punjab Kings' outfit. Ahead of the 2020 season, he was released by Punjab Kings and CSK acquired the services of the talented all-rounder. Curran who registered himself at a base price of INR 1 crore was sold to CSK for INR 5.5 crore.

Sam Curran played all 14 games for CSK in the last season in the United Arab Emirates. He managed to score 186 runs to his name including some quick cameos as an opener. He was quite superb with the ball as he took 13 wickets in 14 games including his best bowling spell of 3/19.

Sam Curran pulls off sword celebration

Chennai Super Kings will start their new season against Delhi Capitals today at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Ahead of the new season, CSK players were seen playing a practice match. During the game, Sam Curran stole the spotlight by emulating Ravindra Jadeja's trademark sword celebration.

The video starts with Sam Curran coming down the track towards Jadeja and pulling off a celebration. CSK posted the highlights of the full game and captioned the post, “Snippets from our #SuperMatch 2. Watch out for those cracking shots, champion dance and samma (superb) sword celebration.” This clip has gone viral all over social media.

CSK failed to qualify for the IPL 2020 playoffs for the first time in history. However, this time around, they roped in the services of Krishnappa Gowtham, Moeen Ali, Cheteshwar Pujara and Robin Uthappa (trade window) and stuck to their strengths. It will be really interesting to see how CSK would perform in this year's IPL.
