Watch: Yuzvendra Chahal and Mohammed Siraj make an absolute buffoonery on the field as they drop an easy catch
Cricket is not an individual sport and it is a team sport. When all the 11 players spring into action, it is necessary to have a proper communication between or among the players. At times, even a lack of communication may put the whole team on the backfoot. It is more important to have such good communication and understanding especially when you are in the fielding team.
During the recently-concluded IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Mohammed Siraj and Yuzvendra Chahal made an absolute buffoonery on the field as they dropped an easy catch in the short third man region.
Well, one of the players would have easily taken the catch had there been proper communication between them. But unfortunately, they couldn't react at the right time and hence they dropped an easy catch. Kolkata Knight Riders' captain Eoin Morgan survived at the crease off Harshal Patel's bowling.
Mohammed Siraj and Yuzvendra Chahal make a complete mess on the field
During KKR's run-chase of 205, the two-time IPL champions did make an impressive start to the game but kept on losing wickets as the overs progressed. They managed to score 112 runs in 13 overs losing 4 wickets. However, with captain Morgan and Shakib Al Hasan at the crease, a good partnership would have kept the scoreboard ticking.
During the second ball of the 14th over, Eoin Morgan decided to play a big shot of Harshal Patel's bowling but he miscalculated the slower ball properly and got a top edge in the follow-through. There was an easy chance but there was confusion between Chahal and Siraj positioning between short third man and backward point.
One of them surely should have taken the catch but their communication was poor as both the fielders let the ball fall beside them as KKR captain Morgan breathed a sigh of relief they let it fall beside them. KKR skipper didn't last long as he was dismissed in the 4th ball of the same over as Kohli took a catch in his safe pair of hands.
